January 21, 2009

Today is President Barack Obama's OFFICIAL first day on the job, his inauguration was yesterday and the crowds that attended his ceremony in Washington D.C. was astounding- to say the least.

Like so many others who believe in him, well- not just in him, but his beliefs that America can rise once again to be a great nation, I wish the new President well and have the utmost faith that how he chooses to govern this nation will not only say a lot about his great character, but that it will also speak volumes to how this country handles itself in the midst of ALL of the disasters that Bush allowed us to get in.

I don't care what anyone else says, Barack Obama stands right now- as the right man at the right time.

We should all give him our support, even if we didn't cast a vote for him.

  1. I did not vote for Obama, but I do agree with you. We should be Americans before we are Republicans or Democrats. I just worry that no mere mortal man can live up to the expectations he brings. I really think the whole world wants him to solve every problem there is and to do it now! I just think we all need to be patient.

  2. I believe that Obama will be a great leader for America and in time will remedy the current situation we face but I don't know if we will ever become that super power again.

  3. I am glad people have started looking at the issues independent or Republicans or Democrats. This allows people to think objective irrespective of which party is in power.

  5. I did not vote for President Obama, but I am completely behind him. I feel that we need to support the President no matter what party we support. The future will show us what type of President he is, but so far, I have to say that I am impressed with him and this is from someone who did not vote for him.

  6. I don't think we've lost that super power that Linda has commented on. This is America and we have that unique ability to change our whole political system every four years. If we don't like it, we can throw the bums out. I think Obama will be great for the country, but what is up with all those lying, cheating crooks he named to be in his cabinet? They are draggin him down.

  7. I believe Barack Obama has the potential to be a great leader, if we let him. After all this is a democracy not a dictatorship, which means all avenues of government have to work together for any progress to be made. People are quick to say, "The President did not keep his promises." before he has a chance to keep his promises. And in order for him to keep his promises everyone has to help and we are iin a mess and it's not going to be solved without a little pain all around. There are consequences to actions and consequences can be painful.

  10. I can not think of anyone that will have a busier first month or so on the job, not counting the entire year ahead. When I see his workload compared to mine I am a little more happy.

  15. Obama has such an amazing presence about him. When he speaks he fully takes command of the room and you want to stop what you are doing and listen. I like to see that in a President. He has a lot of trials to overcome and I hope and pray that he does it. I know I sure wish him the best of luck!

  22. WooHoo! Go Obama! - Obama is the man. He had my vote from day one and I know it is bad but he is the only president I have ever voted for. I know that he can make a difference and I hope he does at least half of what I know he can!

  38. His speeches are pretty powerful and I wish the media would get off the kick about his wifes clothing choices. Its clothes, it is not mad headline news, other things are like the things he is trying to change for the better.
